unguiculus, ī, m. (Demin. v. unguis), der Nagel am Finger od. an der Zehe, unguiculi, Lucr.: integritas unguiculorum omnium, Cic.: unguiculi et ne totius quidem dolor, Sen.: unguiculis caret partus, Solin. – Sprichw., ex unguiculis (εξ ὀνύχων) perpruriscere, von den Fingerspitzen aus, in allen Fibern (= durch und durch), Plaut. Stich. 761. Apul. met. 10, 22. – usque ab unguiculo ad capillum summum est festivissima, wir »vom Kopf bis auf die Zehe«, Plaut. Epid. 623 (Goetz ungulo). – qui mihi a teneris, ut Graeci dicunt, unguiculis (griech. εξ ἁπαλῶν ὀνύχων) cognitus est, von Kindesbeinen an, Cic. ep. 1, 6, 2.
